HISTORIA DE MADONNA
En la escuela de baile conoce a Chistopher Flynn, un conocido coreógrafo homosexual que enseña a Madonna que la carrera artística requiere entregarse en su totalidad, logrando con esto que Madonna se interese más aún por el "glamour" del medio artístico.
Gracias a sus excelentes dotes de bailarina consigue una beca para estudiar en la Universidad de Michigan, en donde se da cuenta que ahí no está su futuro, con lo que se decide marchar a Nueva York sin el consentimiento de su padre.
En Nueva York, tuvo que trabajar en un "Dunkin Donuts" y en un "Burger King". Para sobrevivir y alquilar un asqueroso apartamento tuvo que hacer de todo.
Tiempo después en un barrio de N.Y. conoce a Steve Bray, Juntos formaron una banda llamada "The Breakfast Club", en la que también estaba el hermano de Dan: Ed y una chica que entró como vocalista llamada Angie Smit, curiosamente Madonna no cantaba, sólo tocaba la batería y la guitarra. Más tarde Madonna formaría bandas con Steve y cambiaría de nombres muy seguido, desde "The Mulliners" hasta el definitivo "Madonna".
Con el afán de superarse, Madonna acepta la invitación de unos productores Franceses para ir a París, en una gira como corista acompañando a Patrick Hernández y su éxito: "Born to be Alive".
Al ver que en París tampoco alcanzaría su meta, decide regresar a EE.UU.
De vuelta en América, consigue a un representante: Camille Barbone, la cual sólo conseguía bares para que Madonna tocara, pero nunca hizo nada con ella, por lo cual Madonna la deja y se une nuevamente a Steve Bray, tocando juntos en bares, donde conoce a Adam Alter, quien la ve y se da cuenta de su talento y la ficha para la "Gotham".
Más tarde más profesionalmente conoce a Mark Kamins quien hace una versión del tema "Everybody", que Madonna había compuesto hacía tiempo.
Michael Rosenblatt, ejecutivo de la "Sire Records" confía ciegamente en ella dándole un contrato.
Madonna edita su primer sencillo "Everybody", sin ella en la portada, logrando vender más de 80 mil copias en EE.UU.
Madonna después de esto hace su primer video, mostrando a la gente que no era la intérprete negra que pensaban al escuchar su voz sino una atractiva rubia de glamuroso aspecto.
A partir de ese momento la popularidad de Madonna empezaría en aumento para no decaer jamás.
En 1983 llega la gran oportunidad de Madonna: Grabar su primer disco de larga duración.
Dentro del disco se incluyó también el que se convertiría el himno de Madonna para todos sus fans: "Holiday". Otro problema fué el de no poner a Madonna en la portada, la gente creía que era negra. Más tarde se edita en Europa con Madonna en la portada y el nombre de "The First Album".
Y después de un año de haber salido el primer disco, Madonna edita su disco número dos: "Like a Virgin" con el que llega a los primeros lugares de popularidad en Inglaterra, América y otros lugares de éste planeta.Para 1984 Madonna decide salir de gira por primera vez ante la insistencia de tantos fans.
La gira se llamó: "The Virgin Tour", a raíz de la gira, Madonna inicia la ola de controversia que la caracterizó durante más de 15 años.
Todas las jovencitas asistían a los conciertos de Madonna vestidas como ella. Los hombres querían estar con ella y las mujeres querían ser como ella.
Madonna protagoniza su segunda película en 1985 "Buscando a Susan desesperadamente", fue una de las películas más taquilleras del año, aunque la gente dijo que era prácticamente su vida la que se reflejaba en la pantalla.
Su primera película la filmó en 1979 y se llamó "A Certain Sacrifice" y Madonna ha preferid omitirla en su currículum.
Hijo de un director de cine y de una actriz, el joven Sean es atraído por la sensualidad de Madonna, iniciando una amistad que termina en matrimonio el 26 de agosto de 1985.
Madonna edita su tercer álbum de estudio titulado "True Blue".
La cuarta película de Madonna la protagoniza al lado de Sean Penn y se llamó "Shangai Surprise" fué un fracaso.
"You Can Dance" es un recopilatorio en versiones remix de los éxitos de sus tres discos pasados. Muestra versiones excelentes de sus exitos y una canción inédita llamada "Spotlight". Aunque fue criticada porque mucha gente decía que el disco era un disco de grandes éxitos, y que Madonna no tenía aún la experiencia para ese tipo de recopilaciones.
"Who's that girl" es el disco siguiente, es la banda sonora de su tercera película del mismo nombre, esta película tampoco fue un éxito en taquilla pero le fue un poco mejor que a la película anterior.
Madonna sólo contribuye con 4 temas del disco y los demás son canciones interpretadas por varios artistas.
Madonna sale de gira una vez más. "Who's that girl" es el nombre que recibe la gira. Agotó las entradas en todos los lugares que se presentó.
Fue un fenómeno alrededor del mundo y demostró la calidad con que Madonna hace un espectáculo, fue nombrado por muchos críticos el mejor espectáculo del año.
Tres años después de unirse en matrimonio, el 5 de enero de 1989 en la corte superior de Los Angeles California, Madonna pone la demanda definitiva de divorcio a Sean Penn citando "Diferencias Irreconciliables", ese matrimonio nunca tuvo paz y siempre se rodeó de malos entendidos, celos, prisiones, amén de otras cosas. Después de su divorcio, Madonna ha reconocido que Sean fue, es y siempre será el amor de su vida. Muchos amigos cercanos de ambos han dicho que si no hubiera sido por la prensa ellos nunca se hubieran separado.
Aunque por mucho tiempo se dijeron muchos comentarios hirientes y mordaces uno del otro. Y llegaron a maldecirse y desear no haberse conocido nunca. Actualmente Sean está casado con la actriz Robin Wright Penn y tienen dos hijos. Varias veces se han encontrado en ceremonias públicas y se llevan muy bien. "Like a Prayer" es el material que sigue a la lista. Es considerado el mejor de toda su carrera en todos los aspectos. Rompió records de ventas en todo el mundo.
Está considerado entre los 50 mejores discos de toda la historia y el tema del mismo nombre entre las 100 mejores canciones de toda la historia.
También en ese año 1989 es nombrada "Artista de la Década" por la MTV. Un premio bastante prestigioso y único, actualmente nadie ha conseguido este premio por lo que corresponde a esta década.
Madonna tuvo bastantes problemas con la iglesia y otras instituciones por el material incluído en el disco, contando un folleto que hablaba de SIDA.
Madonna protagoniza su debut en Broadway con la obra de teatro: "Speed the Plow" con la que sí tuvo éxito, aunque tiempo atrás ya había intentado con una obra experimental al lado de su marido que no le había dado muchas satisfacciones. En la obra de teatro Madonna interpreta a una auxiliar administrativa. Después de eso Madonna no ha aparecido en teatro ni una sola vez.
"Dick Tracy" es la siguiente película de Madonna, su primer papel de villana en donde recibe gran aceptación como una verdadera actriz, aunque también tuvo sus dificultades con la productora "Walt Disney".
Madonna sostiene un romance con Warren Beatty, el actor, productor y director de la cinta. El amor les dura un año. Actualmente son muy buenos amigos. Para dar más promoción aún, sale por tercera vez de gira: "The Blond Ambition Tour" recorrió más de 26 ciudades en tres continentes.
Regresando de gira Madonna edita "The Immaculate Collection", el álbum de grandes éxitos a través de toda su carrera. Para darle un mejor toque a las canciones, decide remasterizarlas y probar por primera vez un nuevo sonido, algunas las cortó, otras las alargó, pero ninguna quedó igual a su versión original lo que le dió un plus a todo el disco.
"A league of their own" es la siguiente película en la lista de "movies", después de "Shadows and Fog" de Woody Allen."Snake Eyes" es otro de los fracasos comerciales de Madonna, filmada en 1992. Es una película sin mucho contenido y aburrida.
"Erotica" es el siguiente disco lleno de controversias, donde la gente esperaba encontrar lo mismo que en "SEX", debido a eso es el disco menos vendido en toda su carrera. Aunque sinceramente este álbum es uno de sus mejores, superando otros trabajos con más éxito. Madonna sale de gira por cuarta vez con "The Girlie Show Tour".
Por primera vez Madonna incluye latinoamérica en la gira. Esta gira recibió un premio como el mejor espectáculo del año. La siguiente película de Madonna se llama "Body of Evidence", un filme bastante subido de color que dejó a Madonna muy mal parada frente a la academia por sus excesos de sexo y escenas eróticas. Pero en 1994 empieza a darle un giro distinto a su carrera, y para demostrarlo edita "Bedtime Stories" un álbum que le dió ocho semanas en el número uno de Billboard con el sencillo "Take a Bow". Una balada preciosa.
Tres películas siguen a la larga lista de filmes de Madonna en 1994, 95 y 96. "Girl 6", "Blue in the Face" y "Four Rooms" respectivamente.
Un nuevo álbum recopilatorio, pero esta vez sólo de baladas, "Something to Remember" es su nombre y arroja éxitos inéditos como "You'll see". Otra de las mejores baladas de toda la historia de Madonna.
Madonna ganó el Globo de Oro a la mejor actriz en 1996.
Y después de un romance con el entrenador cubano Carlos León, el 14 de octubre de 1996 en un hospital de Los Angeles California, nace Lourdes María Ciccone León, primera hija de Madonna.
Nuevas ideas y espiritualidad llegan a Madonna después del nacimiento de la pequeña Lulú, "Ray of Light" es el nuevo disco con el que viene mejor que nunca. Madonna es invitada a presentar y entregar el premio a la mejor canción original para una película que se otorgó a James Horner, por la canción "My Heart Will GoOn" interpretada por Celine Dion, por la película ganadora de 1998 "Titanic" que alcanzó el record impuesto por Ben-Hur.
En septiembre de 1998 empieza la verdadera diversión y gloria con los MTV Video Music Awards, Madonna recibe 6 premios de las 8 nominaciones que tenía ese año, la más grande de su historia consiguiendo ser la artista más nominada y premiada por MTV en toda su historia con 51 nominaciones.
Pero es hasta Febrero de 1999 cuando por fin después de 16 años de carrera, la máxima academia en lo que a música se refiere, los premios Grammy, se fija en la música de Madonna y le otorgan 6 nominaciones entre las que se encontraba, "Mejor Álbum Pop", "Mejor Video" y por primera vez en toda su historia "Mejor Disco del año", de las cuales obtiene 4 incluyendo "Mejor Álbum Pop". Esa noche interpretó "Nothing Really Matters", de una manera muy simbólica. Después de los Grammy, Madonna se arriesga a realizar un dueto con el cantante latino Ricky Martin, ganador de un Grammy en esa misma entrega.
El tema en cuestión es "Be Careful (Cuidado con mi corazón)", una balada spanglish compuesta por la misma Madonna y traducida por Ricky al español.
Una vez más, Madonna sorprende y va a la vanguardia.
En diciembre de 1999 se realiza el video de la canción y se edita como el cuarto single de la carrera de la sensación puertorriqueña.
Aunque se creía que Madonna editaría más sencillos de su último disco, no fue así, y con "Nothing Really Matters" cierra el capítulo de "Ray Of Light" uno de los más exitosos de toda su vida. Después de haber cumplido con "Ray of Light", Madonna se adentra en la banda sonora del espía secreto de Hollywood (Austin Powers), y escribe el tema principal junto con Willliam Orbit de la secuela de "Casi un espía secreto": The Spy Who Shagged Me"
El tema que Madonna escribe es "Beautiful Stranger", un tema arriesgado pero exitoso, que la volvió a colocar en la cima, logrando el número 2 como la canción más popular en el planeta, en la lista mundial de éxitos, sólo detrás de la euforia juvenil de los "Backstreet Boys".
Madonna realiza su película número 17 "The Next Best Thing", al lado de Ruppert Everet. El estreno de la película es la primavera del año 2000.
En el 2000, Madonna realiza un cover del tema "American Pie", un éxito de 1971 de Don McLean, este tema fue la canción para la película: "The Next Best Thing". También grabó una balada para el disco de la banda sonora: "Time Stood Still". Lo mejor del 2000 estaba aún por llegar. Nace el segundo hijo de Madonna el 11 de Agosto de 2000, llamado Rocco John, hijo de Guy Ritchie, un director de cine londinense con quien Madonna tiene una relación desde 1998.
En Agosto de 2000 Madonna lanza el primer sencillo de su nuevo disco titulado simplemente: "Music".
"Music" llegó al #1 en todo el mundo. Madonna una vez más imponiendo récords de ventas y popularidad en charts, lo hace una vez más, le demuestra al mundo que sigue y seguirá siendo por mucho la única e insuperable reina del pop.
Por eso, 'Confesions On A Dance Floor', su nuevo CD, se ha promocionado como un homenaje de la diva a sus raíces musicales.
Por su parte, ella confesó haber estado enamorada obsesivamente de Tony Manero, el personaje que interpretó el actor John Travolta en Fiebre de sábado por la noche, y que le gusta esculcar en la cartera de sus amigas.
Este es el álbum número 16 de Madonna, después de su exitoso American Life, de hace dos años.
